WHY MAKE THE TRIP
Aside from the name, it's not really 1,000 steps (just 218). However, it's worth enduring that burn in your legs afterward. Because it's a classic shore-break spot, it's perfect for body surfers and skim boarders. The beach is also home to Laguna's iconic sea cave with a full walkthrough. Just be sure the swell is not up if you decide to head in the cave's direction.
